Mt Annan Plant Bank built in 2012 was designed with a focus on architectural concrete. The building won the RAIA national award for public architecture, the RAIA national award for sustainable architecture, the RAIA NSW public architecture award, the RAIA NSW sustainable architecture award and the WAF high commendation for research buildings.
The Australian Plant Bank located at the Australian Botanic Gardens in Mt Annan, is a science and research facility of the royal botanic gardens domain trust. It houses the trust’s seedbank and research laboratories that specialize in native plant conservation. The facility is positioned globally as a symbol of preservation of the natural cycle from the germination seed to the propagation of forests.
